I had a request recently for this exact image! It's not very often that I can come up with a specific image that someone has in mind, but I just happened to have this one, and actually I had him in two different books! This one comes from an 1870's Printers Book. The Graphic is an old Advertisement for Cigars and shows and Odd looking Man holding up a Cigar Sign. His mouth is wide open and he appears to be hocking the Cigars, to anyone that will listen. I've removed the text, so that you can use it as a Label or Tag if you want to.

Wow! He is kind of an odd character isn't he? LOL. Too neat!
ReplyDeleteThis is great! Thanks so much for this image.

ReplyDeleteI love this graphic. It is used on a hangout bar/restaurant called "Hungry Charlies" in Syracuse, New York. I never knew where it came from originally, but we have a giant Plastic Cup from there that is at least 25 years old now. My husband is from Syracuse, and this place and graphic holds lots of college memories for him. Using it for a Christmas gift. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for posting this! I used this beautiful image for the poster of my workshop about pinhole photography. The writing in the cartel means "get a photo by a hole!" :)
